-Are you stoked to be on the HARO program?
Colin: Haro. It’s an honor. I didn’t believe it when I heard they were interested, I figured it would pass and nothing would happen. I’m so excited about the whole thing, the guys in charge, Tony and Pete are the best, and I’ve known them for ages. Haro as a brand is great too, they were massive when I started riding, and when I was 13 I was bummed when a kid at school bought the only Haro jersey they had at the local bike shop. I wanted it so bad. I managed to get a Haro Shredder frame though and I rode that for a while. Nyquist rules, he’s a close friend. Haro is very international and they support riders everywhere, I’m looking forward to being part of the team.
-What’s in store for you with them?
Colin: I just helped them design a frame; it’s not a signature frame though, with 21tt, mounts on the bottom, small tubes and dropouts, removable gyro tabs. It's looking great I can’t wait to get one. Haro’s really interested to re-do any of the existing parts with any Ideas I have, which is great also. -The European HARO riders pretty much all made it to Tallinn for the Street and Vert contest. On hand were Ben Shenker (Hungary), Senad Grosic (Austria), Ben Manuel (UK), Peter Geys (Belgium), Anthony Pill (UK) and Ben Hennon (UK). Senad Grosic fell on his hip hard, Anthony Pill ended up with a swellbow and Ben Hennon broke his shoulder blade. What a way to start off the new year. Find a full report on the www.HAROBIKES.com site to see who did what.
-Former HARO rider Mike King recently escaped from a horrible traffic accident. Mike was sleeping on the back seat when his brother's vehicle got off the road and started tumbling down a 50 feet embankment. Pics on: this page
-Over in Australia BMX star Jamie Gray scored a second place at Round 3 of the UCI World Ranking Series and the 2nd round of the Champ Bikx Series in Brisbane.
-Ben Manuel (UK) and Ben Hennon (UK) went on an Eastpak trip to Dubai recently. It was a weird place to visit but any place can turn into a good time when you're on the road with a bunch of fellows. Expect coverage from this trip in some publications.-New Haro rider Daniel Dhers showed up at the ABMX dirt contest in Sao Paulo, Brasil but opted to enjoy the beach and his holiday instead of throwing himself over the dirt jumps.
-HARO's dirt jumper Luke Parslow is participating at the Vodafone X-air competition in Wellington, NZ this month. The event is co-sponsored by Haro Bikes. After this contest Luke will travel back to the motherland to participate in the Monster BMX Games in Sydney, Australia.
