Qualifiers at the Nike 6.0 BCN BMX PRO, and the Barcelona heat is in the red – El Scorchieo they call it over here we’ve heard, and there’s likely to be some serious lobster tans being rocked in the hotel lobby by the end of the event. With a start list of just under 40, a couple of dropouts due to injury in practice was also made up of 3 Spanish riders who got through to represent via the Spanish only Am Jams held earlier in the day
It was clear from the off that some had come to cruise while others had turned up to really show and prove. The lines that were in everyone’s head during practice started to be unleashed, Dennis Enarson threw down an outrageous whip transfer from the box to the long metal wall while Alex Coleborn got all involved with an equally mind blowing barrel roll tail whip. However MC Catfish had the largest, or is that loudest, screams for Garrett Reynolds’ nose manual to 180 bars out over the box, truly unreal.

12 riders were to be judged through to the finals and for those looking to make the cut competition right down to the last spot was super stiff.
Gary Young owned the course whenever he went near it, displaying true San Diego style he was hardly able to contain himself within the confines of the park perimeter.
Daniel Dhers pulled out a couple of his promised South American fireworks in the shape of a 720 barspin and, showing men twice his age what the real deal is, was young
Mad Dog (Brett Banasiewicz ) again, getting raised brows and legitimate nods of approval from all the established players and shrieks of delight from girls closer to his age.
4 riders still get a chance to make the finals in the ‘Last chance qualifiers’ but at the end of the session these are the to 12 making it through:
1 Dennis Enarson
2 Daniel Dhers
3 Garrett Reynolds
4 Brett Banasiewicz
5 Ben Wallace
6 Gary Young
7 Dean Cueson
8 Michael Beran
9 Ryan Nyquist
10 Mike Spinner
11 Alex Coleborn
12 Alessandro Barbero
