It's that the high-flying team of professional athletes has partnered with Susan G. Komen for the Cure (in particular, the NC Triangle chapter) to raise awareness for breast cancer, and they are making a big statement.
"We travel all over the U.S. with our portable metal ramps, but since the NC State Fair is our home turf, we introduce a large ramp park to perform our shows on, rather than merely one or two ramps, " Keith King, owner of the stunt team and professional BMX flatlander, said of the set-up. "But this year, we are incredibly proud to raise awareness for a cause that has impacted so many people, including my own family."
King BMX will debut their ramp park with a twist on October 18 at the NC State Fairgrounds, completely painted in a very noticeable bright pink--the largest pink ramp park in the United States. In addition to the very big statement in pink, the crew of riders will host "Survivor Night" on Saturday, October 23, in which the team will honor the women (and men) who have survived there fight with breast cancer and will remember those who have not with special speakers and spectacular stunts involving several of the breast cancer survivors.
"We didn't realize October was breast cancer awareness month when we approached Susan G. Komen about what we wanted to do, " says Keith King. "So, we realize that many great organizations and companies are doing their part this month to support the cause. We just want to make the biggest statement that we can." Whether viewers are in the audience or in a helicopter, it will be hard to miss this sea of pink ramps that the King BMX riders will be swimming in.

King BMX Stunt Show travels the United States captivating audiences at festivals, fairs, NBA and NFL halftimes, and special events as riders perform the same gravity-defying aerial tricks similar to those seen in the X Games and Dew Actions Sports Tour.
