The kids had no idea their park had been rebuilt. Their school buses took them on a surprise trip to the park where the Extreme Makeover Home Edition TV Show, Lyons, and the construction workers were waiting to surprise them.With the help of Adam’s Bicycle World in New Orleans, Lyons arrived with over 20 SE & Fuji bikes in hand. The bikes were hidden from view until the TV cameras were running. Once the kids arrived by bus to their brand new park, the bikes were unveiled and the kids shrieked with enjoyment.
It was with great pleasure that Lyons was able to give a little something back to this community. “It was so cool to connect with these kids and put smiles on their faces” Todd exclaimed. He went on to say “If there’s anyone who REALLY needed these bikes and the enjoyment that they will bring, it’s these kids of the Ninth Ward.” He spent the entire day hanging out with the kids, signing autographs, and talking BMX.
