Hit up the People's store, they should be able to explain where the Ditch is located.
On a sidenote, FATBMX T-shirts are still available. The photo was taken at this location so if you want to show up in style, order one of those T-shirts and wear it!Here's a spot check from the FATBMX site from a few years back.....
As a BMX-er you are always looking for rideable stuff. Maybe it's a building with a crazy roof, handrails, a fullpipe or bank. Ditches are not too common in Europe but that doesn't mean they don't exist.
Peter Fastenroth discovered a small ditch near Cologne, Germany and decided to follow the track. The ditch was small and had 5 feet banks on each side with no flatbottom. To find out if there was more, Pete followed the whole thing for miles. The longer he followed it, the further away from home he got. There was no way Fastinetto was giving up and he got what he was looking for.
At the base of the ditch was a concrete square surrounded by banks of all sizes. The basin almost had the size of a football field. It was huge. On top of that, some of the banks lead to a rail and some banks lead to ledges. There's a platform on one part of the banks too.
Pete surely was stoked when he found the spot. It's in the middle of nowhere and we don't have directions.
To make the spot even better it would be nice if someone would get out a sack of cement to round off some of the edges on the bottom. Also there's a lot of glass so if you're planning on riding there for a day, be sure to bring some tubes and a pump. If you pick a sunny day it will make you feel you're in San Diego or something. There's just not difference between the two.
Thanks to Pete for showing us the place.
