The recent floods in Australia, especially in the state of Queensland have shocked the nation of Australia and the world. One cannot imagine what the victims have had to go through. From country towns being completely swept away to people literally seeing loved ones washed away and farm houses ending up kilometers from where they once stood. The state’s capital city, Brisbane was not spared with the city inundated with water along with 1000’s and 1000’s of homes and businesses being underwater. Three quarters of Queensland has been declared a disaster zone, which is almost twice the size of Texas. The reconstruction task facing the people of Queensland will be of post war proportions.
As a community, bmxers have always been there to help out fellow bmxers at a time of need. Now as a bmx community, it is time to offer our support to the people who have been affected by the floods in their time of need. To assist with this there will be an Australian
wide bmx jam to help raise much needed money for the affected people and communities.
AUSTRALIA WIDE BMX JAM – NINE LOCATIONS – ONE DAY – 20TH FEBRUARY – BMX FOR FLOODS This type of thing has never happened before with the bmx community. Sure there have been charity jams for numerous reasons but never a nationwide jam taking place in every state and territory of Australia all at the same time on the same day.

The idea of the day is to raise much needed cash to help rebuild the shattered lives of those who have been affected by the floods. This will be achieved by the participation of bmx riders on the day who will be encouraged to give a gold coin minimum donation. Not just bmx riders but the general public are more than welcome to come to the locations to enjoy and watch the awesome activity as well as give a donation. If your riding your donating it’s that simple, no excuses will be given. If you think you don’t have money to give think about those who have been ravished by the floods that don’t even have a home to live in any more. Again it’s simple if you are going to turn up and ride your going to turn up and donate. Those riders who won’t donate will most defiantly be haggled in a way you could only haggle someone at a bmx jam. There is a large list of companies and businesses who have donated products, from complete bike down to stickers and everything in between. These products will be auctioned or raffled off and the money raise will also be donated. 100% of all donations will be forwarded to the Premiers flood relief appeal. (This is a registered event).
There are nine locations taking in all states and territories, see which is your closest and mark it down to go. It will be epic.
