some of the best mid-air skateboard and BMX manoeuvres ever seen in this state. Confirmed to compete is Darren Pryor, widely recognised as one of the best vert ramp skaters in Western Australia.
To complete the thrills there will be awesome demonstrations by Australia’s best Freestyle Motocross riders. Josh Sheehan, Luke Mulcahy, Rob Clohessy and Russel Lightfoot will wow the audience as they perform some unbelievable mid-air manoeuvres. The final freestyle motocross demonstration presented by Cleanaway on Saturday March 12 will include pyrotechnics before culminating with a full fireworks show at 8.30pm.
City of Mandurah Community Services Manager Tim Hartland commented, “This 2011 Channel Seven Mandurah Crab Fest and Mandurah Action Sports Games are shaping up to be two of the great events that Western Australia has seen. Not only do we have a national wakeboard event with highly ranked world class competitors from the US and Australia, including some incredible local talent; we also have a state based skate and BMX competition and demonstration Freestyle Motocross!”
“Aside from the Mandurah Action Sports, the Channel Seven Mandurah Crab Fest is all about increasing the visitor experience, with a refreshed approach to food and a wide selection of seafood, throughout the entire event. The 2011 Crab Fest has so many exciting new elements, with the Bankwest En Plein Air art competition and trail, the Champagne Travel children’s stage and Dora the Explorer, Jenny Rossen a world renowned sand sculpturist, Rotovation helicopters, roving entertainers, the Good Guys cooking stage featuring local My Restaurant Rules celebrities, An Evening on the Boardwalk by Mirvac, fireworks and much more; people will find it hard to know where to start.”
The Mandurah Action Sports Games will be supported by a fantastic music line up, with performances taking place around the main competition on the Eventscorp stage. WA’s best up and coming music talent will be on show, including enigmatic singer/songwriter Abbe May, punk rockers The Novocaines and indie pop band Split Seconds.
The action will take place on Mandurah’s western foreshore and estuary as part of the 2011 Channel Seven Mandurah Crab Fest.
