The opening saw BMX-ers Aze, his friend and Bart Bazelmans join the Freestyle Holland demo team. They each brought their own bike which were equipped with some extra tubes in the wheels and around the handlebars to make the bikes float. Bazelmans kicked off the demo together with Jeffrey Bignell. They both did a backflip in the water to the delight of the good sized crowd. Aze used the opportunity to work on his superman tailwhips, 360 flips and was thinking about the next one: flip-whip. The guys were well protected with swimming vests, helmets and other pads because landing in water doesn't mean you always land soft. Bazelmans tried a double backflip but got stuck at one and a half. 720-s, front flips, barel rolls, we saw it all.
On a super warm summer day what beats a day of lake jumping? The facility is great. They serve beer, they've got music, a playground, waterbikes, diving board and now the ramp. I'm sure more sessions will follow.
