Press release:
Dear Roots Jam Riders and Family:
First, let me say thank you so much for all the emails and questions about Roots. I know all of you have been waiting for dates and info for 2005. Well, we are changing things up quite a bit this year and there is a lot of new news so read closely.
About a month ago we discovered a major scheduling conflict with our
older venue. This was quite a blow but also a blessing in disguise as we were stressing about the unpredictable rain during Roots in spring. We have wanted to find a new home base for Roots Jam with more seating and a bigger place so this conflict just pushed us into doing that.
We have been working closely with several places in Orlando and are coming very close to confirming a new facility. Due to the circumstances, the dates for Roots Jam will be pushed back until a weekend in November for 2005. We think this is the best time to reschedule because we want to honor the other BMX events that are already scheduled during the spring and summer. Not to mention, the weather in November is awesome.
From what we can tell, the new place will be indoors with a ton more seating and a special, elevated area for flatlanders. Further, we will have an awesome PA system for the announcers and birdseye VIP skybox for volunteers and sponsors. In addition, a judging area that makes this place unparallel to any other venue we have ever held Roots before! It’s something that will bring Roots to a new level and give the riders and spectators an opportunity to participate up-close-and-personal while the contest progresses and we offer more back to BMX!
The website will be updated soon and we will get an early start on
registration, media, and volunteer stuff.
Feel free to call me if you have any questions at 407-599-7255 x101.
Best,
Rachel B.
