Can a spline drive sprocket/spider work on a crank arm with a spider boss? Yes, it can. If using a crank arm with a sprocket bolt boss, the boss will sit flush against the sprocket/spider. Just make sure you take out the spider bolt. With Profile spline drive sprockets/spiders, you can also match up (or “time”) the crank’s spider boss with recesses in the sprocket. Basically, the sprocket bolt boss will sit inside the cut out of the sprocket. Regardless of how you apply it, spline drive sprockets/spiders will work with any 19mm crank set with existing sprocket bolt bosses.
