From Todd Lyons:
Hey guys,
I am looking for contact info for any of the early legendary SE riders. It's for a project we're doing with DC shoes and I would like to get some quotes from the guys regarding the PK Ripper.
Some of the names that come to mind:
-Stu
-Jeff Utterback (I know, it was the JU-6...)
-Darryl Young (not super old-school, but close)
I can track down these guys:
Mike Devitt
Toby Henderson
Perry Kramer
Matt Hoffman
Eric Rupe
I am SURE that there are plenty more SE riders from the way back that I am spacing on.
I'm looking for a simple sentence or two about the PK Ripper. Such as any one of the following:
"Where did the PK Ripper fit in to BMX back in the day?"
"What did you think the first time you saw/rode the PK?"
"How legendary is the PK Ripper?"
"Why was the PK Ripper so badd ***?"
"You were cooler than the next guy because you were on a PK. Why is that?
"Why did everyone want one?"
-If you are one of the old school guys, feel free to post a sentence or two in this thread, and add your name. Or e-mail me at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
A sentence or two about any ONE of the above is fine.
Thanks y'all! This is going to be a very, very cool project.
