The unique nature of the T-Mobile Extreme Playgrounds lies not only the combination of two action sports at each event, but also in the mixture of the sports’ stars and bands of the moment. And so with this in mind, Good Charlotte and Boysetsfire are confirmed as our first live acts.
Events of this magnitude are impossible without sponsors. And in T-Mobile, these events have a great one. The most important part of the events are the T-Mobile Local Support Challenges, which take place around four weeks before the T-Mobile Extreme Playgrounds and are designed to unearth both the best local rookie and team for the bigger events. On the 21st April, the first challenge will take place in the Abflughalle in Grevenbroich.
The first event takes place on the 11 – 12 th May with The Dirt Session at the Zeche Ewald in Herten/Recklinghausen in the heart of the Ruhr region. After the qualifying sessions on Friday, the top BMX and mountain bike riders will come together to compete against one another on the Saturday. BMX riders Ryan Nyquist and Tobias Wicke as well as mountain bikers Timo Pritzel and Lluis Lacondeguy have already been confirmed as among the ten international competitors that will battle it out for the €34,000 prize money on offer.
For an entry fee of €15 plus tax to the T-Mobile Extreme Playgrounds you get a world-class festival program and action sports event. The tickets are valid for qualifying on the Friday as well as the final on Saturday and can be obtained from ticket offices around Germany and by going to: t-mobile-playgrounds.de where you find more information.
