At the BMX Dirt competition,
Ryan Nyquist pulled out the victory on his last run, while
Cameron White landed in second and
Chris Doyle took third. Despite all the amazing performances there was a tragic moment during the BMX Dirt competition. 27-year-old
Stephen Murray broke his neck attempting a back flip.
He was rushed to the hospital and underwent surgery to stabilize his injuries. Murray remains under close watch at University Hospital in Baltimore.
This was the first time there was a jam format in BMX Park, and taking advantage of it was last year's Dew Tour Champion
Daniel Dhers, with newcomer
Mike Spinner taking second and
Dennis Enarson in third.
In BMX Vert,
Jamie Bestwick continued his dominance with his fifth win in a row dating back to last year. Coming in second was
Chad Kagy, while
Jimmy Walker took third.
