With NASS around the corner, hype is building for an event set to be the biggest action sports and music weekend to date. Cypress Hill, Reel Big Fish, Wilkinson and Noisia aside, NASS will once again boast the creme de la creme of BMX, Skate and Inline pros all set to compete on one of the industry’s best courses, the Pro Park course. Final designs have been released and NASS and action sports enthusiasts will not be disappointed with the finished product. Designing for NASS since 2001, world renowned park designers 414 Skateparks have
once again delivered one epic course for the host of prestigious riders and skaters to shred on.
"This year we have the Elephantine Hip a new Box Jump coming for the comp. Watch out for the top BMX pros skying above the mezzine floor on the hip before sending themselves at a brand new quarter for the classic big airs. There is also a bunch of new Plaza Blocks, Rails & Ledges, with more to come in the final designs. There will be a re-designed step up jump to blow your ankles out on. It's always an amazing Park contest Final at NASS and this year will see another level... BMXcited.." Shaun Scarfe, Four One Four Ltd.
BMX legends
Logan Martin (NASS '13 BMX champ, AUS),
Greg Illingworth (RSA),
Matt Priest (GBR),
Tom Justice (GBR),
Luke Padgett (GBR) and
Todd Meyn (AUS) are amongst the many that will battle here for the chance to get their hands on the massive £30K prize purse.
The action sports offering doesn’t stop there with the BMX dirt and mountain bike comps once again taking place on the gravity defying Dirt Course. Absent since 2012 and back by popular demand, industry expert Kye Forte will select the top 50 riders to take to the 2014 course to compete for the £3k prize purse.
"It's great to have BMX Dirt back at NASS and stoked to be involved! This is a local event for me and my crew so a privelege to be involved." Kye Forte, BMX World Champion
"Great to be involved in NASS. We have teamed up with Kye Forte to deliver a progressive course for all taking part. The course will start from a 4m high roll in structure, with a series of 3 jumps over a 60m distance. Let's hope the sun is shining all weekend." Andy Gregorek, MD, Gorilla Marketing & Events Ltd.
On top of all this, the Midi Ramp competitions are back and with £6.5K up for grabs, prepare to witness some serious skate, BMX and inline skill on this huge addition to NASS.
Rider list still to come but those itching to get involved and give the pro’s a run for their money will have access to this awesome ramp plus the Retail Village indoor mini ramp and comp AND the massive NASS Indoor Public Park.
The Public Park is a NASS favourite and designs have just landed so whether you’re skating, riding or scooting, the temptation to get involved can be accomplished on this insane elite course. Last but not least, don’t miss the jaw dropping professional FMX demos, a display guaranteed to wow the crowd with tweaked backflips and no handers galore. News still to come on an additional qualifier to the NASS qualification tour mid next week at one of the UK's best indoor skateparks - Rush Skatepark, so stayed tuned for more detail.
