General Manager of the Dew Tour, Alli Sports. “With a mix of sports and disciplines, a live DJ set, and multiple points for consumers to interact with the athletes and brands, this weekend of free events truly has something for everyone.”
For the first time in Portland, the two-day street-oriented competition will take place on Broadway Street, as riders compete in front of the urban downtown backdrop. Competitions will include BMX streetstyle, skateboard streetstyle, a BMX dirt session and skate best trick. The distinctive streetstyle course will combine real-life street obstacles with reinforced structures to provide competitors with an exciting redesign from previous years.
Fans can expect to see Garrett Reynolds, Chad Kerley and Drew Bezanson battle it out in the BMX streetstyle competition, while former BMX dirt champion Kyle Baldock will take on a roster of competitors in the BMX Dirt Session. A full list of confirmed athletes can be found at www.DewTour.com.
“I’m excited to showcase this new streetstyle discipline to the fans in Portland,” said Bezanson. “We’re bringing something really fresh to a city with deep roots in the action sports culture. I can’t think of a better way to kick off the two-stop Toyota City Championships.”
On Saturday, August 16, a free, hour-long DJ performance will set the tone for an exciting night of BMX Dirt Finals. Exmag will spin their latest hits in front of a crowd right at the dirt course, as the athletes fine-tune their best tricks leading into the contest.
The Toyota City Championships is a free event and is open to the public. Event gates will open at Noon on Saturday, August 16. On Sunday, August 17, the gates will open at 10 a.m. The complete schedule of events for the Toyota City Championships is as follows:
