The FISE World Series Committee was delighted to see the high level of interest expressed by numerous cities worldwide, all working towards achieving similar goals: encourage sport participation, engage with youth and promote action sports, develop tourism through sporting events hence drawing social, cultural and economic benefits to the city and the country as a whole.
The Selection Committee congratulates the candidates cities which put time and great efort into submitting well thought and remarkable bids and proudly announces the 5 destinations which have made the shortlist. Denver (US), Edmonton (Canada), Kazan (Russia), Qatar, United Arab Emirates- are all in the running to stage the 2016-2018 FISE World Series including the first ever BMX Freestyle UCI World Cup.
Only 3 cities will join Montpellier (France), Chengdu (China) and Langkawi (Malaysia) in 2016, bringing the number of FWS stages to 6. The FWS Committee will continue in-depth discussions with each of the cities and the finalists Host will be announced this Fall.
After the smashing success of stage 1 in Montpellier last May, FISE World Series will be travelling to Chengdu-China on October 16-18 before heading to Langkawi on December 16-18 for the ultimate stop of the 2015 FISE World Series.
