It's been a busy month. Somehow there does not seem to be a slow time. Also in March we've kept the updates coming with the appreciated help from contributors worldwide. Without their help you would be stuck with what's going on in Helmond and Aarle-Rixtel and I can tell you, that's not enough for 3 updates a month!
What did we see at FATBMX in March?
-DC did an event for the AA racers that was different than a normal race. They prepped Stumpy's backyard 2-lane track and invited some people to battle for the suitcase with 1500 one-dollar bills. DC rider Marco Del Isola almost got it, but not really. He was there though. We've now added a video to the article made by Infantry5.
-We saw sample pics of FOX athletic shoes. It's a new area that has not been touched by a skate/bmx/mx company.
-This month we also had a prize giving. People like free stuff and we're trying to set up similar contests in the future. Looks like we're getting help from Epitaph to give away some interesting stuff too. Stay tuned.
-Pin-Ups? Yup, we had a couple but feel free to contribute in this field. It's the best visited part of the FATBMX website, or should we call it the FAT PIN-UP website from now on?
-March also saw the first round of the XL Series take place at The Promise park in Holland. Indoor events this time of the year are a success. High quality riding thanks to the big German invasion of pro riders.
-We've opened up our old box with BMX magazines and will have some history lessons for you in the upcoming months. Can you say old school?
-Girls in the UK united for a girl only BMX jam. Caro wrote a report and wants more ladies to hop on a BMX bike. We don't have a problem with that. Look at how many girls kick ass on snowboards. We need more female participants in BMX. That might make an end to the sausage parties too.
-King of Choq ditched the cops with his Dutch accent and continued riding the Oceanside skatepark and made a report for us. Buy the guy a chocolate milk next time you see him.
-The people at TransferBMX are trying hard to get bikes in their skatepark. You can help by signing a petition. type the word TransferBMX in the FATBMX search engine and you'll get to the article.
-We've been receiving loads of press releases and event dates. We're trying to run all of them just to spread the word.
-What were BMX-ers doing in a sewer in Mexico? Add some Redbull to this and it all makes sense. Corey Martinez was the ditch master with Home Ave's Gary Young in second and UK's Bas Keep in third.
-We have a George Dossantos interview up. It's a 50/50 between his bike and his bass guitar.
-Dutch AA racer Robert de Wilde filled us in this month with all the SoCal race gossip you can think of. Expect this info to be in the magazines in the next month or two. Speaking of magazines, TWENTY BMX mag was born.
-We have an interview up with OBG and Pill and reviews on cd's, magazines, books and videos. Hopefully you can keep up with us.
On Monday it's off to Birmingham for the start of the HARO UK tour followed by the Bike Show contest. We're bringing the camera and tape recorder so expect April to start off in a big way. Thanks for checking out our site. Link us up, put us on your favorite list, buy us a beer, send us some news, make FATBMX your start-up page, support us, we're doing this for you.
Peace.
