Come back next week for the answer if you haven't figured it out by then.
-DJ over in England sent us this message; Even though Webby (Mark Webb) is meant to be laid down the boredom has got the better of him & he has taken to drilling & cutting anything he see's as unecessary off of his bike/frame. His complete set up is now 20.8lbs & thats with 2 pegs & a gyro! Then we received a bike check from Brasil that received incredible hits. The titanium bike weighs in at 16.8 lbs which gets close to 7.7 kilograms. Michel won't have problems paying for overweight at the airlines, that's for sure.
-For lots of people the next time we meet up is the Simpel Session in Estonia. FATBMX has an interview up with organizer Risto Kalmre who gives a bit of background of the contest. The videos for the Simpel Session film festival program are confirmed. Over in Australia at the same weekend people will go over to the Monster BMX Jam. Ryan Guettler and Mike Spinner will be making an appearance there.
-This weekend FATBMX is going to Zwolle, NL for the next round of the UCI European BMX Championships. When thinking this was pretty odd, we found out that Marc von Varel from La Finca and XMX + Kay Clauberg (FreedomBMX magazine) are going as well. A race report in Freedom BMX, you better believe it. I'm pretty sure we'll run into more people there.
-Magazines somehow arrive all at once. Reload has a new format and I just read the Steve Rocco article which was interesting. The new RIDE UK showed up. It's issue 111 and it's got a sick cover. RIDEBMX (Feb 2008) showed up at Paul's Boutique and DIGBMX left a big bonk on the doormat (the issue is thick!). Enough reading material for the weekend.
-It didn't take Tony Watkinson long before he found a new ride. DK didn't have to think long and snatched him away before other companies could get in there. Catfish, Brian Hunt and Tony Watkinson in Tallinn, ladies get ready.
-Senad Grosic explained in his FATBMX interview that he did not actually backflip the Governator but the Hermanator instead.
-McGoo and Justin Kosman went over to the USA Olympic training facility this week to see trainers Mike King and Greg Romero drill the likes of Mike Day, Jill Kintner, Randy Stumpfhauser and Donnie Robinson. They filmed the whole ordeal which will be on Freecaster.tv in time to come. Freecaster.tv/bmx will be the spot to view the Simpel Session live. Better bookmark that one now.
-We received an e-mail back from Jimmy Levan this week. He's doing better and recovering from his head injury still but looking forward to a European trip. Interbmx are helping out Jimmy Levan in the following way: InterBMX.com is donating one dollar to the Levan fund for every new account created during the month of January, up to $500. They are trying to max this out, and also working with a number of companies to match this donation.
-Today 11 January 2008 is Scotty Cranmer's B-day. Congrats Scotty.
Enjoy the weekend.
