Program highlights: BMX Dirt Jump and Mountain Bike Slope Style. For these events tons of earth and loam will be transported to gigantic industrial buildings and will be used to form tricky courses. Monstrous ramps will be in the centre of the KRAFTZENTRALE on which the world’s best BMX and mountain bike riders will show their tricks. The discipline Mountain Bike Slope Style will start extremely spectacular under the hangar’s roof in 15m height. International top riders such as Phil Sundbaum, Lance McDermott, Ben Wallace, Tobias Wicke and many more will dare to throw themselves into the course.
Prior to the Dirt Session the three best BMX and mountain bike pros can secure their start allowance for the T-Mobile Extreme Playground at the T-Mobile Local Support Dirt Challenge. Additionally, there is one T-Mobile Wildcard each for the best newcomer rider. Hence, the winners directly enter the competition and compete against the international stars of the scene.
Action sports with “La Bum”! On April 20th the band Sportfreunde Stiller perform the best hits of their No.1 album “La Bum” and will thrill the riders and fans of the Dirt Session in Duisburg. Their album went from nil to number one of the charts last year and continued the success story of the “Sporties” from Germering. They have already proven that they are the best band for sportive events. Since the football world championship in 2006 they are celebrated as one the best live acts. DFB-fan mile, Rock am Ring – all these events: no problem for the three band members. At the T-Mobile Extreme Playground they will once more show their stage qualities as the headliner and will make sure that everybody gets a wild finale! The second band, that already confirmed are the skate punkers of Millencolin. The Swedes are cult already and have been rocking the house for the past 15 years. The three band members Erik Ohlsson, Mathias Färm and Nikola Sarcevic became acquainted with each other in 1992 while skateboarding in their hometown Oerebro. Drummer Frederik Larzon joined the band a year later. In this formation they are still performing. Since their second album “Life On A Plate” was released they have been known internationally. Four albums followed until the band took two years off – until now! Finally, in 2008 they are back with their seventh album which they are about to finish in Oerebro. The exclusive concert at the Dirt Session will be their only concert in the Ruhr region. Are these guys still able to rock the house? Let’s see on April 20th!
After a very successful start in 2007 the T-Mobile Extreme Playgrounds bring sports and music together in a nonrecurring way! At three events top athletes of the international action sport scene compete against each other in a high price carrying competition. Furthermore, top band create real festival feeling and an optimum of variety between the final rounds. The Hamburg based Nice Productions GmbH is the organiser of this series of events. The initiators are Andy Zeiss (rebeljam), Achim Kujawski (BMX pro), Ralf Middendorf (ex skateboard pro, Monster Mastership) and Lars-Oliver Vogt. The three action pros and the festival expert create events form the scene for the scene. They have already successfully run events with bands like The Hives, Good Charlotte, Boysetsfire, Donots and Bullet For My Valentine. Tickets are now available for 19 euros plus issuer fee at all known ticket sales places. Buy 4 get 5 tickets are available as so-called “5-Freunde-Ticket” – a group fare that allows 5 friends to enjoy the event for the price of 4, for 76 euros plus issuer fee.
