skatepark as the first BMX riders. I had been waiting for those photos for a few weeks and they finally came in this week. Not only that but Todd sat down and typed out the whole story. He sent so many photos and the story was so long that we split it up in two sections. If you have not seen them yet, hit up the following links to read about BMX/Freestyle days in the beginning, when there was no BMX Freestyle and you had to be an outcast to see what was possible on a bike. Sneaking into skateparks was a part of it too.
Part one (with unique '70-s BMX pics)
Part two (with the skatepark shots)
-Todd Lyons finished up a whole new series of "Days of the Wildman" stories. 1996 is complete (about 10 of them) and he'll get to work on 1997 soon. Expect to see them all on FATBMX. Latest story: Midget at McGoo's B-day.
-Alejandro Caro, Daniel Dhers and Nathan Penonzek went to Cuba for a demo but it got rained out. Fun was had nonetheless and they got to see the country, meet their people and eat their food. Alejandro reports that the BMX-ers over there have to make things work with whatever parts they can get and since it's forbidden to import stuff, they have to be creative. Read about the trip here.

-We watched the first round of the 2008 UCI Supercross BMX championships live on Freecaster.tv. The commentating sucked but it was great to be able to sit on the couch and watch the event live. All of a sudden Sergio Layos and Naran showed up for a dirt exhibition too. The racing was exciting. So fast and big jumps. We wonder if Brian Foster is going to make a comeback anytime soon. The results look like this:
UCI SX race Madrid, Spain 9 September 2008
1 Arthurs Matisons LAT
2 Marc Willers NZL
3 Steven Cisar USA
4 Tyler Brown USA
5 Donny Robinson USA
6 Kyle Bennett USA

-We got our hands on a drawing of the 2008 FISE course. Nokia is not a title sponsor any longer and it looks like they have to drop the vert competition to save money. This will leave the event with BMX flatland (always good in France), BMX miniramp (Braun Cuzer Tour stop one), BMX Dirt (with people sitting on that bank the pictures were awesome and the BMX park event (see the drawing for that set-up). More news as it arrives....... Oh yeay, a FIAT Panda 4X4 can be won in the 2008 FISE series. For more info on that visit www.fise-events.com
