BMX is alive Belgium: the number of riders is on the up, the level is increasing fast and the Belgian scene can be found abroad at regular intervals to show that she is a force to be reckoned with. There’s only one problem: young BMXers miss a suitable spot where they can practice their sport. But now, thanks to Red Bull Backyard Digger, these youngsters can construct their own – legal – dirtspot in their town or even in their own backyard.

The Red Bull Backyard Digger concept is as unique as it is simple: youngsters indicate where they would like to construct a permanent dirtspot in their town, and the Backyard Digger-team makes it possible. They help them with permits and provide bulldozers and professional dirtbuilders to create their own fantastic spot. After three days of intensive building work, the dirttrack will have a festive opening with a special opening afternoon with DJ and barbeque.
Would you like to nominate a spot? Go to www.redbullbackyarddigger.be for more information. Plans need to be submitted by 14 April 2008 at the latest, after which a selection of the most suitable locations will be made.
