With the event taking place in the middle of the summer the weather should be okay. With the contest spread over three days it is still possible to move the contest around if the weather does not cooperate on one of the days. Spending three days in Peter's backyard sounds like much but the program includes a lot of entertainment. Co-Organizer Paul de Jong of Paul's Boutique:
"Not too many BMX events take place in Belgium. With the Knokke event disappearing, there is place for a new event. The Belgians know how to entertain and get entertained. Some side events will take place during the weekend and be sure that the beer tent is up and running."
"Halfpipe riding is one of the most spectacular disciplines of BMX freestyle" says Bart de Jong of EBC. He continues:
"It takes skills, experience and balls to drop in on a halfpipe and pump airs of 10 feet plus. Imagine letting the handlebars go at 3 meters high on a 4 meter high vert ramp. That's seven meters above the ground! If you think that is crazy, wait till you see the 540 air or the tailwhip. The level of riding gets higher and higher and with the participating riders at the Garden of Vert you are in for some serious action."
Reserve the weekend of
12-14 August for the Garden of Vert in Overpelt, Belgium.
