FATBMX Believe it, or not!? Here's just some random BMX news that we came across. Browse through it and feel the power.
-At the beginning of the year
Ryan Nyquist was spotted with Adio shoes on. It wasn't that he was completely off
adidas but the three stripe brand had not made up their mind yet. They now have and Ryan is back on board. After Split dropped their US team, Ryan seems to have found a clothing sponsor in
Hurley.
-
Mike Emde and
Andy Zeiss are working on the Rebel Jam, a contest to be held at the Mellow park in Berlin with a hefty prize money budget. Stay tuned.
-We weren't at the RIDE party at the Bike Show but we've been told that
Clive Gosling was dissing BMX on the microphone while presenting the RIDE awards. If spandex is what you fancy Clive, leave BMX alone. While you're at it, change your license plate to MTB IT.
-FunBox are having one of their Award evenings again. Nominated for Dutch BMXer are:
Willy Kanis, Bram Verhallen, Daniel Wijsmuller, Barry Kohne and Mark Vos. FATBMX is not nominated for website of the year.
-The most BMX family from England (
Murray/Edgeworth) has just become bigger. Congratulations to
Kung and
Kerrie on their newborn daughter. Word on the street is that
Stephen Murray will be a daddy soon too. There will be BMX as long as the Murray/Edgeworth family lives.......

Bill Bryant is back on the nest at Revolution Advertising. McGoo's right hand man signed up for the National Reserves and before he knew it they sent the former tank commandor to Irak for 18 months. He served his time and is now back at Revolution working on SNAFU, UNIVERSAL MX and other customer's logo's, websites, catalogs and ads. Welcome back Bill!
-When listening to Studio Brussels radio station all of a sudden they played a song by
Adam Banton! They even announced him as a BMX rider. Cool.
-The VANS BMX team did a signing at their flagship VANS store in London. Riders who were present were a.o.
Gary Young, Nasty, Rob-O, Ryan Geuttler, Jon Taylor, Baz Keep, Alistair Whitton and TM Bad-ass
Badders. Gary Young hurt his shoulder at the Bike Show but he should be back on his bike when you read this. He's got a busy schedule ahead of him with the PIG contest, MacNeil tour and the Roadfools trip.
-Talking about concept stores, Eastpak just opened up their first shop in Milan. TM
Nadia flew over there and brought
Travis Collier with her to cut the ribbon. Maybe not exactly that, but the Canadian flatland rider was there.
-FELT took
Scotty Cranmer on a history lesson at the Bike Show and showed him a castle. The street contest had to be delayed because Scotty was still chilling with the knights at the Warwick castle when the finals started. With zero warm up, the Euro rookie still did a huge front flip and a flip double whip.
-Prototype Redline freestyle bikes have been spotted. Watch the rides of
Rooftop, Dustin Guenther and
Rich Hirsch to see what Redline has cooking for the 2006 product line.
-
Ryan Nyquist sold his old house (that had the mini ramp) and moved across the street from Greenville Campus. The Malibooty man is however thinking about building an indoor place to ride........... By the way, the MTV crew filmed Ryan's crib for an upcoming episode. That's the third HARO rider that gets on that program.
-Ty Stuyvesant on Eastern
-Morgan Wade on UGP
-Aaron Behnke is off DK
-Josh Heino on Evolution bikes
-Sequoyah Faulk on Solid Bikes
-Brian Vowell off Standard
-The Seventies crew have got some bloody good reps.
Finchy Chris Finch did an autograph session on Sunday at 5pm at the booth at the Bike Show. The line was insane.
-FOX Racing have given
Dave Mirra an enourmous outdoor ramp to do a big trick for the next FOX advertisement. The roll in to the jump box is ridiculous and the box itself must be close to 10 feet high with a rounded off landing. What's it going to be?
