This year’s event celebrates the 10th edition of the X Games Asia. Expecting bigger crowds this year, the event will now include another day of exciting action with a new four-day format to satisfy the cravings of Shanghai action sports fans. In addition to the competitive events, spectators can also enjoy a Sponsors Area with fun and interactive activities and prize giveaways all day to ensure that the audience has an enjoyable experience at the event.
Created by ESPN in 1995, the X Games is widely considered the elite action sports competition, and a vehicle for expressing individuality and pushing one’s limits. The event celebrates the cool and trendy culture of the Generation X and Y youths of today, and the KIA X Games Asia continues this tradition in China with live musical performances headlined by the ‘Face of X’, celebrity boy band Go Go Club, as well as other popular and up-and-coming artists. The event will have plenty of break-dancing, DJs spinning the hottest tracks, prize giveaways and other fun and interactive activities.
The KIA X Games Asia is organized by Asia’s No. 1 sports broadcaster ESPN STAR Sports in partnership with the Shanghai Media Group (SMG) and Shanghai Sports Federation. The event will be televised live from Shanghai’s KIC Jiangwan Stadium on April 30 – May 5, 2008 on ESPN Asia networks as well as SMG’s channels Dragon TV and G Sports.
