The T-Mobile Extreme Playgrounds are waiting for you with the giants of the action sports world competing against eachother on the highest level. The Summer Session is the battlefield for the world leaders in Wakeboard Cable and on the BMX Miniramp. Appearances of BMX-heroes like Tobias Wicke (GER), Brad Simms (USA) and Markus Braumann (GER) are confirmed, and we have BMX-legend Dave Osato (CA) and Arthur Dietrich (FR) as further highlights of this special event. They all will show off their skills on bikes to the audience around the beautyful lake with its inspiring ambience in summertime.

Music stage: Sweden gave us elks, Ikea and Koettbular. The latest export is Mando Diao. Originally from a small town in the North of the country called Borlänge they already became internationally acclaimed artists by creating a smooth sound with unique guitar riffs. For Frontmen Bjoern Hans-Erik Dixgård and Gustaf Erik Norén, Carl-Johan Fogelklou (Bass), Samuel Giers (Drums) and Mats Bjoerke (keys) making music turned into a success story with their debut album „Bring ‚Em In“. In both Germany an Japan Mando Diao reached gold status with that release. The sophomore album „Hurricane Bar“ won the voting for the „Album of the Year“ nominated in 2005 by the readers of the German music mag „Visions“. „Ode To Ochrasy“ hit the charts successfully in 2006 and became the breakthrough album in the homecountries of Pop, the U.S. and the UK. As Mando Diao worked tireless, „Never Seen The Light Of Day“ followed already in 2007 with eleven tracks that all sound like real Rock-hits. The five Swedes call theirselves „The Best Rockband Ever“, easily having the edge over heroes like the Rolling Stones. Come and find out if this is true and listen to Mando Diao live on the open air stage at the Summer Session.

Mando Diao performed on every continent last year raising the roof even in the biggest venues. Their tour started in spring 2007 in Canada and the U.S.: Chicago, New York, San Francisco, Seattle, Palm Springs, Toronto. Tha band covered the Coachella Festival in California and had some amazing nine (!) gigs at the SXSW Festival in Texas. Then they came over entering Europe’s festival summer season with shows in Hungary, Italy, Sweden, Slovakia besides „Rock am Ring“ and the „MTV Campus Invasion“ in Germany. In autumn the band was off to China’s Bejing Pop Festival, rocking an audience of more than 30.000 Chinese Fans appreciating pretty much a rare performance like that in their country. In August 2008 the day has come for the Summer Session in Pinneberg close to Hamburg. Mando Diao follows in the footsteps of their compatriots The Hives who convinced their audiences with a unique show as the headliners in 2007. With a smashing show Mando Diao will try to top The Hives’ last year’s performance. And with their special „vintage sound“ and heavy drums they will turn the idyllic beach area upside down.

The Summer Session is proud to announce the Westcoast-Hardcore-Punkband Pennywise from L.A. As a second highlight! Pennywise always guarantee to make thousands of action sports fans get into gear for Mando Diao. A third band will be confirmed soon to complete the line up.

Tickets are available for 19 Euro (+ VAT) at all official box offices. The public transport services in Hamburg offer special „5 friends tickets“ for 76 Euro + charges (pay 4, get 5).
