GoPro, a maker of wearable cameras for sports, teamed up with X Games BMX Gold medalist, Kevin Robinson as he set another benchmark in action sports yesterday in New York’s Central Park. The BMX legend laid down a new world record as he attempted to clear the height of a six story building on his bike in the latest Red Bull Experiment.
Standing at 27-feet tall, the world’s first Super Quarter Pipe was the launch pad for Robinson’s 60-foot blast into the stratosphere. The view heading down the massive roll in, up the mega transition and looking down from six stories up isn’t one that only Robinson will know.
The GoPro Helmet HERO camera mounted on Robinson’s helmet gave the world a first-hand view of what it feels like to be the world’s highest flying BMX pilot.
Robinson was fully equipped with a GoPro Helmet HERO. The Helmet HERO is miniature digital video camera that can attach the helmets of all types, bike frames, and other sports equipment. GoPro's miniature digital video cameras are revolutionizing digital video and photo capture in the action sports market.
The camera's quick release mounting system allows for convenient setup and rock steady video without the wires, battery packs, and setup hassle encountered with other helmet camera systems. And thanks to GoPro’s new “photo every five seconds” mode, you can automatically shoot brilliant three megapixel stills. along with the video footage.
