The Deconstruction tour is on the road. The first stop kicked off in Herne, Germany with Simon Tabron, Zach Shaw, Matt Fairbairn and Ronnie Remo taking care of the BMX demos.
I arrived early as they were not only desperate for a BMX/Skate MC, but a FMX announcer as well. The first show was on the program for 15:30pm but it rained a bit and the FMX ramp was set up outdoors. No show. The BMX/Skate demo took place indoors with the first show being at 18:00pm after a couple of bands had played.
For some reason the ramp was wet and we cleaned up the mess and got the show on the way. A 25 minute jam session with skaters Ali Cairns, Jocke Olsson, Pete King and Dave Allen drew a good crowd. It wasn't that the riders were holding back either as Ronnie, Simon and Zach pulled flairs and we saw 540-s with variations from both Matt and Simon and tailwhips from Ronnie, Si and Matt. With Alex Reinke in the crowd Simon had to throw in a one-footed griz air in the last show of the night. All good fun.
The second FMX show didn't happen either as it was still wet but the riders got to ride later that night but there was no PA. Oh well.
Day two of the tour was schedule for the Groezrock festival in Meerhout, Belgium but the ramp was never set up so that was a day off. The crew is coming to Amsterdam to chill this Wednesday and the tourbus will leave for Paris right after that. Here's the venues where you can catch the Deconstruction tour at the end of this week. Might see you there.
