etnies Launches Ruben Alcantara's BMX Pro Model - the Terranea
Lake Forest, CA -
etnies just launched Ruben Alcantara's first BMX Pro model shoe, the Terranea, and it'll be in stores in early summer. Ruben is currently one of the most highly-respected riders in BMX, ripping both street and parks. His uncanny ability to seamlessly pull several tricks together into a line that truly flows sets him apart. Ruben's creative take on riding gives him a unique perspective, and allows him to pull obscure maneuvers on the parts of obstacles that no one else even considers.
Ruben is truly a rambling man that spends most of his life on the road.
"It's crazy, because I worked on the design of the shoe while I was in many different places in the world. So, much of the inspiration comes from everywhere," said Ruben.
After testing numerous outsoles, Ruben selected one that has stood the test of time and established itself as one of the best BMX soles ever. Ruben even thought of adding removable ankle guards to prevent nasty abuse from the crank arms. The shoe is constructed with super durable synthetic materials, and has a hidden set of lace loops for the two lower eyelets to make laces last.
The Terranea contains the most effective shock absorbing system available from the Sole Technology Institute (STI) with System G2TM inserted into the heel, and a STI Foam TM Level 2 cushioning footbed. The STI is the first and only biomechanics research organization dedicated to the study of action sports.
The shoe retails for $ 80,= USD in the USA.
