While in the USA a few weeks ago I rented a car for a few reasons and one of them was to see three BMX riders who had been (and still are) going through some rough times.

Mat Hoffman made things easy to see Stephen Murray as he had invited him to come the SoulBowl event. It must have been the hardest event to get him to with his chair but if there is a will, there is a way. It was awesome to see Stephen up there enjoying the riding that was going on in the wooden bowl on the beach.

Jimmy Levan has recovered from his coma very well. We spent an entire night at the hotel bar in Los Angeles and did not care about the expensive Sheraton drinks or other X-Games parties that were going on that night. Jimmy said he's 95% sane now and didn't claim to be 100% sane before his accident. He was also ripping it up on the X-Games street course the same weekend but the latest news is that he got hit by a car again and broke his femur. Get well Jimmy and I can't wait to see you back in Europe some time.

Last but definitely not least was a visit to colleague BMX judge Mike Vincent up in LA. It was a bit of a search for the apartment he is staying in with his mother but it was so good to meet up with him. Life has been rough for Mike and let's hope he will get his
