-OK, I promised I'd try & help Bart do more with this fat friday thing so here goes....
Raleigh Bikes in the UK have appointed KHE to manufacture Diamond Backs "top end" models. These rides will be debuted at next weekends NASS event in Shepton Mallet, UK with the top set up being around £600gbp!
There's a new concrete park being built in Bestwood, Nottingham... Looks pretty good, check out the website for more info but it looks worth a visit when completed.
Like old school? Did you watch Joe Kid on a Stingray? or the UK version, Barry on a Grifter? Well, Ross "Cheeky Monkey" Milne is busy putting together a sequel to it right now, hopefully some preview footage soon...?
Looks like there's going to be a new UK BMX Magazine soon. CASE is going to be run by Southampton local Mike Netley & be available on a quarterly basis, no overkill. Nice. More news on this soon.
As you will have heard both Mark Webb & Harry Main qualified to ride the rest of this years Dew Tour, unfortunately Ben Wallace missed the cut by just a few spots. Out of the 3 UK guys only Webby made finals & ended up a very repectable 6th place with what looked like minimal effort. Not bad for a guy who's flight to Greenville was the wrong Greenville, bags didn't turn up & was somewhat pissed off in the build up to the event! Ah well, Carpe Diem & all that huh Mark?
Registration for next weekends IBMXFF Worlds in Cologne, Germany is CLOSED. There are no more pre register spots for either Pro or Am. The best you can do is check out the official website bmxworlds.de & see what they have to say... Please, stop emailing & texting me too, theres nothing I can do!! Over 220 Pro riders in this years event, it's going to be hard work but well worth it no doubt. If you aren't there next weekend then well, LOSER!
Remo will be at the Worlds of course, not only riding but also showing his & Webbies new frames off... Be sure to go & see them at the totalBMX stand... After which go & see the deepbmx stand too, love that lowcash!
Steve Wilson mailed me a couple of weeks back about his new venture & I've totally forgot to put it in so here's his mail to me:
I've been working in television for the last 10 years, and am still a freelance presenter working for ITV, but it's only know that I'm doing what I've always hoped I could do - running a BMX business. I've ridden BMX since 1983, without a single day passing by that I've not been a BMXer.I'm a LIFER. Hence the name. BMX is completely and utterly my life. We are also sponsoring the new West Devon Warriors race club and their efforts to have a track built, as well as amssing a small team of Lifer BMX park/street/dirt riders, including Jay Openshaw, Ross Hayward, and others TBC. liferbmx.com is the website, please come and take a look, I aim to offer good quality customer service, friendly advice, and signed pictures of Holly Wolloughby. [last bit may be a bit difficult!]
Im still also organising the Old FOols BMX Roadtrip - we are on trip number 7 this September! With about 70 odd riders regularly making the trips, its a total blast - and you dont actualkly have to be old to come on the trip. Just a fool. Thanks DJ, -Steve.
I probaly won't be contributing anything next week due to being at the Worlds but thf following it's on, tales of decadence & debauchery no doubt!
Thanks DJ! More results/standings from this week:
