Taj Mihelich posted a tweet this week and announced that Giant was going to stop paying him in January. With no other paying sponsors for Taj, he's facing getting a job to pay the bills. His resume looks someting like this: juicebar employee 1994-1995. Bike bum 1995-present. That's it! Uh oh..... It's the same for a lot of people who have lived the BMX pro life for a while. But they've seen the world before retiring at 65 from a normal job. The travel and the good times can't be taken away.
And maybe for a lot of ex-pro riders the time has come to actually start working to pay the bills. Nothing wrong with that I'd say. The thing is, what fun job is out there? You need to be really lucky finding something good because beating "living like a pro" is tough.

-What other sponsor changes did we have this week?
Cory Martinez does not have to worry about getting parts for free that United doesn't make now that he is riding for Dan's Comp and
Brian Kachinski will have to get his shorts from somewhere else since he's off UGP.
Eddy King surprised
Stephen Murray by telling him he's going to race the ABA Grands racing for
Stay Strong. And yes,
Heath Pinter and
Corey Bohan are losing their Giant ride for 2010 as well.
After a 3 year absence
Renato van Bloemenhuis is bringing back FLATtv in 2010, new and improved! Go to flattv-bmx.com and stay tuned for more info!

-The 040Revival jam last Saturday was amazing. Over 100 riders signed up to session the new ramps at The Building on Strijp-S in Eindhoven. It's a sign that BMX-ers need an indoor place to ride (this winter). The place is open on Fridays (7pm-11pm) and Saturdays (6pm-11pm). Five Euros per session.
Check the photos on FATBMX to see what's there to ride.
-This afternoon The Helm trails crew consiting of
Mike, Jamy and myself visited the Beursvloer dag. People were there to offer things or services, and clubs were present to ask for things/services. The goal was to make as many "matches" as possible. At the Helm trails we could use some wheel barrows, which were

offered by Bouwcenter Swinkels straight away. 2 of them, brand new. While we were there we started thinking what else we could try to score. 4 barrels to collect water would be nice. Bam, done deal, offered by Helmond city. Then at the end of the afternoon we ran into the local gymnastics crew who happened to have some extra mats that we can pick up. Can you say Resi in the works? A good afternoon to say the least.

-The Vans Europe team is now chillin' in Cali. They hit up the RedBull and Vans offices and some parks yesterday and today it was off to Hollywood. Good times already.
-We reviewed some magazines, videos and also had a bike check with
Eric Holley's bike straight from Barcelona. To watch that one,
hit this link.
-Over in Australia
Andy Buckworth is doing some small fronties at the local parks. Small? Really?
That'll do for this week's FAT Friday. Enjoy the weekend. Be safe.
