Carlo Griggs of Proper Bike Co. added Ramps to his playground
Knowing Carlo for over 20 years he still is the same person as he was back then. Building ramps in his backyard and never stops building, he should have become a carpenter as a profession.
If he is not busy enough with running his IMG Distribuiton company or working on new stuff for his bikecompany Proper he makes the locals and himself happy with another rampsection. After 3 months of work its finally done so now they can wait for half a year till winter is over and ride.....
Hello FATBMX visitor, Thanks for checking out the site. The updates have been keeping me busy so I use that excuse for the lack of editorials the last couple of months. It's been hard getting things done with one arm anyway. I was under the knife to have my shoulder fixed at the end of May and had my right arm in a sling at the following events: IBMXFF World's in Prague, Download Soulbowl in the UK, LG Munich, BMX Masters, LG Paris and the Rebel Jam. After that I started driving again and went to the 20 Jam, FISE, LG Barcelona, UCI World's in Paris. Then to the Garden of Vert, the FAT-JAM, Eurobike trade show and then I had great news from the doctor that I could slowly ride again. Dealing with the fact that I could not ride all summer wasn't actually that rough. It's the way it is and you have to deal with it.
As you may or may not know but the legendary BMX park in Beenleigh australia is under threat of being torn down. This would totally suck to say the least for bmx in australia. Myself & many other riders have grown up riding there over the years...... Mackay, Guettler, Bohan, Dillewaard amoungst many others. Beenleigh can't be taken away!!
What we need from you is to go to the Beenleigh BMX park website & sign our petition we have going....... spread the word please as the more sigantures we get the better our chances of saving the park will be...........
Thanks for your time........
A couple of months ago we decided that it was time to organise a good jam in Tilburg for the flatlanders from Holland.
After getting some stuff worked out, we were ready to set it off. Paul’s boutique and Soulcycle were willing to help us out with some prices so it was pretty easy to put up a small best link contest. The contest turned out to be really cool with the best flatriders from Holland and Belgium showing up.
We really wanted to create a good vibe at this jam and I think that we succeeded in doing that by not taking things too seriously. In the end Bram Verhallen showed everybody why he is the talent of the moment and won the contest, with some really hard links with whiplashes and

Brighton hosts one of Europe’s most prestigious BMX competitions as Etnies Backyard Jam (EBYJ) turn the Brighton Centre into a BMX Mecca 21 – 23 October 2005, ready with a 375 m2 street course, retail area, Snickers public mini ramp and more international stars than the Beckham’s garden party!
In its 12th year the Etnies Backyard Jam is coming back bigger and better. As the leading core event in the UK the riders list grows year on year and in 2005 it reads like the BMX hall of fame.
Baco-a-go-go is coming up shortly. It's happening in Florida this year and the two main man behind it (Freimuth and DeGroot) are ready for it. Are you?
What's the deal with Baco-a-gogo?
Freimuth: Baco-a-go-go is our annual halloween bike comp. We started it at area 51
skatepark in 2000, mainly as a reason for our friends to come visit us to ride bikes and party hard. Since then we've just tried to make it bigger and better every year. We finally decided that Florida was the place to do it because of Chad's amazing new park and the weather is always perfect.
DeGroot: This will be our fifth year doing it. It's more or less a Pro Jam. We set up this format to make it like your riding with all your friends. Then it spawned the best trick and title for the year. Josh Nenza received it last year with a 450 to ice pick on the hitching post. He brought home $1000 cash. The funny thing is that the first one we had. Dave had an idea to put a hitching post on the course. People went ape shit. That is how that obstacle all began. Now we have it at everyone.
Playstation is doing some sort of Trick of the Week contest where BMX-ers are up against skateboarders and FMX-ers at the Dew Action Sports Tour. This time the following riders have been nominated to put the $5 grand in their back pocket: Dave Mirra (like he really needs it but it helps to pay for the wedding), Jamie Bestwick (same goes for him but he could use some pamper money) and Ryan Guettler (he's been winning so much this year, it isn't even funny). Anyway, it's better to keep the check within our sport of BMX than give it to the FMX-ers or the skateboarders. Vote now at:
