We want to give a big thank you to Jody Clodfelter who hooked Dylan up with the original General Forks and Handlebars to go along with this bike build. We also got a crap ton of parts from JD Cycle Supply which you will see us unbox in this video. Big thank you to Jeff DiVito for those parts. You'll see there is a lot of Profile Racing Parts in there as well as some Bully and MCS parts.
Hope you guys all enjoy this build and stay tuned for the next update in this series as it should be out soon!
Happy Riding
RL
Alright guys so welcome to our new bike build video series. This is going to be a build that I am going to do for myself here. I just found this Hustler pro frame in my Dad's closet. Did you just say you were going to build this bike by yourself. Well it is going to be for me. Well I thought you just said I'm going to build this for myself. As in you are going to be doing the work. No I am building it for myself because I want to be the one riding it. Who is doing the work on this thing? I will be doing the majority of the work.
Of course I am going to need some help from you though. Yeah. But yeah so this is the, I guess the general pro or Hustler Pro, general pro series. I don't really know. Do you know, I guess just the Hustler Pro. Yeah it's a general Hustler Pro. Okay, it's got RL’s signature on it which is kind of cool, my dad's signature. But anyways this is going to be my very first time building a bike. So just going to be figuring it out and having my dad show me what to do. But I am really stoked right now because Jodey Clodfelter, he actually hook me up with some parts for this build. So we are going to unbox that right now.
That was very cool Jody, yeah, thank you for sending that stuff in man, yeah thank you big time. Yeah I just posted a quick message in the I believe it was the unbelievable Grails facebook group. And it was like within 5 minutes Jody hit me up and he was like hey man I'm going to send you these Forks. He also hook me up with these bars, these handlebars with the grips. Those might actually end up on my bike, no. My dad is already eyeing all of these parts.
Thank you for the parts Jody I will put them on the other General. They are going to look good on there. No chance. Don't let me hit ya ya you are getting close. So he added the new red General sticker on there which is really. Looks really clean. That's a die-cut yeah. It looks nice, yeah. It looks really clean. I like the bars, and I like this like grip area. Can you take that for me.
And then he gave me, I believe these are Hustler Pro Forks. So these are the ones that normally go with the frame which is cool. And that's another thing we were discussing, or with my dad keeps asking me is how I'm going to build this. If I'm going to build it what did you say, classic or new school. Is that the question? Well you are already addicted to the freecoaster. The S&M. No the freecoaster, the hub.
How it doesn't pedal backwards. You like that right? That is what is on the S&M. Right. Yeah I do like that. So if you do like that oh, that is a 9 tooth only rear sprocket which means you are going to have a, you probably won't have a problem here because the breaking amount up here so small sprocket here in a small sprocket in the back you should be fine. Really. Yeah. Yeah I want to go for the old school look, but maybe with some updated Parts you know, features. These are the forks, but he did the matching details on their to which is really cool.
Man those Forks look brand-new, yeah, it says spinner on it. What, spinner. So these are the original spinner Forks he was saying. I can't see anything. It's like, oh I see it. Spinner. And it has a little bird. He said these were the original Forks I believe that go with this model. I am sure they are but I'm just, spinner. Oh that looks good. I like the black and the chrome.I'm thinking about repainting it too because I want to do a flat black.
No look, you see that. So you might not have to? No you just get stickers from Brian Bennett. Yeah Brian Bennett was saying he could possibly hook me up with some stickers. Yeah but see the background of this sticker kind of makes it look weird. You see that. Because it's not a die-cut you're saying. Yeah but we can cut some of it out, we will see. Yeah it looks really cool. Can you throw the bars on there or is it possible like that? Oh no.
