After I went back to the hospital for check up I decided to pack my bags for bootcamp USA with the Dutch Team, but I still can’t use my wrist… November 28th I had my appointment at the hospital. This was 1 month after surgery, so my doctor wanted to check if the wrist was still in the right position. Fortunately the broken bones didn’t move after they put in a metal plate and 10 screws, so that was a good sign. I was also hoping to see any bone growing, but that wasn’t the case. No bone growing at all, but the doctor told me it was a little to soon to see anything at the X-rays. I can start to try moving my wrist a little but I’m not allowed to use it. Because the doctor was so positive, I decided to pack my bags for a training camp in the USA with the rest of the Dutch Team. Right now I’m in California for over a week already. We also wanted to know exactly how the TNT Peacemakers work. Well we've done that and have disassembled my own personal set of TNT Peacemakers, both front and rear hubs.
The front hub is pretty much as per any front, but the rear is a real piece of art. Machining of the front hub is just sensational. The rear hub has a total of four bearings, that’s right FOUR. No wonder this baby spins for ever.

The UCI BMX World Championships are coming to Birmingham in 2012 for what promises to be the biggest and best BMX show in 2012 and tickets are now on sale. The event, which takes place at Birmingham’s National Indoor Arena NIA from May 24th-27th, will host over 2,000 riders from across the world, including Olympic GB hopefuls Shanaze Reade and Liam Phillips who will be gunning for world titles in their last major outings before the Games. The event will showcase four days of BMX Racing with two different standards of rider competing, elite ‘Championship' racing and the amateur ‘Challenge’ class. The event will be the final opportunity for elite athletes to secure points to count towards qualification to the London 2012 Olympics. Last year we pulled up in the pits at the Volkel track in -3 degree temperature. This year the meter said 9 degrees. Much better to say the least but the wind made it feel cold anyway. Luckily we came prepared. Not only did we bring the TwinAir EZ-Up tents, but we brought two side panals too. And not only that, Eric Mulders celebrated his 40th B-day the weekend before and his friends gave him a transportable fireplace so we didn't have to freeze our asses off.
