The French cyclist Laëtitia Le Corguillé, following a fall on the afternoon of Friday 8th October during the qualifiers for the final of the BMX Supercross UCI World Cup at the Roc d’Azur event (Fréjus), was hospitalised to undergo tests.
“Her condition is not worrying. She left hospital last night suffering from bruising to the ribs and a broken finger: forced rest is what is required for the sportswoman”, stated
Fabrice Vettoretti, coach for the French BMX team.
Heading the world cup ranking with a 679 point lead over New Zealander
Sarah Walker (397 pts), the French cyclist is guaranteed to win the title this year, even though she won’t be able to race in the competition during this final event of the BMX world cup.
NB:
Sarah Walker would score 250 points in the event of victory in Fréjus, which wouldn’t be enough to catch up the Breton in the
general ranking.
