He figured all of the pain in his arm was from the gashed elbow and being the hardcore Pro racer he is, he was all ready to throw the dice for the second round. As he does practically every weekend, he slid in to the gate, snapped strong and was in the mix … that is, until he hit the first jump. “My handpractically flew off my (LizardSkins Signature) grips,” he describes. It was then that he knew something else might be wrong and a trip to the ER might be a good card to play. After getting his wound stitched, the Doc’s took a scan of his shoulder and discovered a fracture. Bubba had broke his shoulder … and amazingly, had even raced with it.
And so … the Ballad of Bubba in 2006 is in the mending stage for the next 3 to 4 weeks. But even though he won’t be on the track, he’ll still be at this weekends’ ABA Winternationals greeting his fans, cheering on his teammates and signing copies of the new BMX World magazine poster. Be sure to stop by the Redline Pits and wish him a quick recovery, and nab a free poster.
