With the vision of sending a strong and efficiently run team to the Summer Olympic Games a professional management will care for the team and the success of the 23 hard working riders on the BMX AIR team.

Team manager and sports director/conductor of the BMX AIR team is Sydney Webster, who will also personally take over the sports development of the new generation classes (Challenge classes) coaching. At the beginning of January, the South African will move to Germany to fill the post. So far Sydney Webster has run teams in South Africa, Team Jeep BMX with which it was distinguished as the third-best of 22 BMX teams in the year 2010. This is 6 podiums in 6 years for Webster as a team manager. Many BMX’ers also know Sydney as the English-language commentator of UCI BMX Supercross World Cup races.

“With Sydney Webster, the AIR TEAM will be an international BMX Race Team with an established and experienced team manager to win”, said the pleased managing director Francisco Bähr. “He was a professional rider himself, and in the years 1995/1996 South African Champion.”

The nine riders of the BDR cadre, who will start 2011 for the BMX AIR TEAM, are:

1 - in the Junior Elite class (17 – 18 years): Axel Roth, Aaron Schlang and Julian Schmidt

2 - In the Elite class (19 years and over): Maik Baier, Luis Brethauer, Max Ganser, Thorsten Lindenmeyer, Nickolas Schäufelin and Daniel Schlang.
