The second round of the 2012 UCI BMX Supercross, to be held in Norway next April 13th and 14th, has been moved to a new indoor venue in Randaberg. The Randaberg Arena is just seven kilometres away from the originally planned outdoor venue in the centre of Sandnes. This slight change means the event will not be affected in the event of bad weather.
Although this will be the first time that a round of the UCI BMX Supercross is held in the country, Norway hosted the 2010 European Championships
and the 1991 BMX World Championships in Sandnes. The Norwegian Cycling Federation took part in the seminar held at the World Cycling Centre last week for all organisers of the 2012 Supercross series.
The 2012 UCI BMX Supercross, managed by Global Supercross Events Inc, comprises four rounds. After Randaberg the series will stop over in Papendal (NED) on May 12th and 13th, then Abbotsford (CAN) on September 14th and 15th.
