Alise Post (Saint Cloud, Minn./Redline) claimed the victory in the third round of the 2012 UCI BMX Supercross World Cup today in Papendal. After making it to an eight-woman main that included strongwomen
Caroline Buchanan (AUS),
Laetitia Le Corguille (FRA), and fellow American
Amanda Geving (Largo, Fla./MCS Bicycles), Post got into the front position by jumping the whole triple in the first straight.
“I was the only one that did it in practice and I hadn’t hit it since,” Post explained. “It was kind of a split decision moment and I needed
to do that to get in front and I went for it.” The jump took
Alise out of third or fourth place and moved her to the front, a position she held onto until the finish.
“This is huge for me going into Worlds,” she said.
“It’s a big confidence boost.” Post’s countrywoman Amanda Geving barely missed out on the podium, crossing the finish line in fourth-place.

The U.S. grabbed another medal in the men’s race when
David Herman (Wheat Ridge, Colo./Free Agent Rockstar) powered his way to the bronze medal. The lone American in the main event, Herman finished third to
Maris Strombergs (LAT) and
Sam Willoughby (AUS).
