Randy Stumpfhauser, Cristian Becerine, and Brandon Meadows all attended the event looking to take home some good results and get some TV time on the now Televised NBL Pro Series events. Here is how each of the Double A Marketing riders finished up:
Randy Stumpfhauser flat out smoked every Elite Pro this past weekend at the NBL Elite Pro Opener. Stumpy has always been one of the most consistent Pros in the world, but this weekend, Randy let all the other Pros know that he is going after Pro #1 titles in 2007. On Saturday, Randy won every lap of the day, with incredible leads in each race, including the main event. Sunday, was much like Saturday, where Stumpy once again won every race of the day. Randy takes the early lead in the NBL points standings and more importantly, took home the most points to count towards the USA Olympic ranking. Look for Randy to go after his first ABA #1 Pro Title later this month in Tulsa, OK.
Cristian Becerine started off the 2007 NBL points season with 2 main event results. Cristian looked incredible, after his win last weekend at the ABA Fall Nationals, all weekend and on Saturday, looked strong down the first strait in the main event, just behind Randy. A small bobble but him at the back of the furiously fast pack of Elite Pros, but Cristian was able to come back to finish up 6th. On Sunday, Cristian would finish up 6th again. Cristian heads off to Argentina this week, for the South American Pan Am Games, to compete in the BMX events.
Brandon Meadows made his return to NBL Pro racing this weekend and had a great showing. Brandon, who broke his femur at the first race of the 2006 NBL season, has had a successful comeback with great results at the ABA events, as well as the UCI Supercross event in San Jose. Brandon rode strong and was out front, but missed out the Elite main event both days. Brandon looks forward to the ABA Grands in a few weeks, as well as a full season of racing next season.
