Cash Matthews: Credited for getting BMX started in the state of Oklahoma. At a young age, through extensive coverage in BMX News and BMX ACTION magazines, he helped inspire riders to start their own tracks and create their own race scene beyond the borders of California. Riding for Webco, BMX Products/Mongoose and Shimano, he proved that factory sponsorship was deserved by riders outside the state of California. He was also influential in getting the ABA Grands originally located in Oklahoma. Cash is an investment broker living in Austin, TX and still races today.
Matt Raymer: One of the early pioneers who established BMX in the state of Oklahoma in the mid `70`s. Through extensive coverage in BMX News and BMX Action, Matt helped inspire kids around the country to create their own tracks, especially in small towns. He rode for factory Webco, Shimano, and Mongoose, proving that factory sponsorships were deserved by racers outside of So.Cal. Matt wrote a column for BMX Action magazine in the late 70`s. Designed, patented, and licensed belt drive technology to GT Bicycles and Schwinn Bicycles in the 90`s.
John Crews: John began his racing career in 1975. He rode for infamous Speedo of the mid-70’s, was sponsored by Patterson Racing from 1977 to 1980, and rode for Redline throughout the early 80’s. Known to be a flashy rider, he invented his own Signature Jump, the “Crews”, as it is still called today. John turned Pro in 1979 and won the Australian Open in 1980. He started up his own BMX company in 1983, called “Pit-Kit”, a tool bag designed with the BMX racer in mind. John retired from racing in 1985 and now runs his own chain of bike shops, “Bicycles Plus I and II” in Folsom, CA. John still shows up at the Nor-Cal BMX events to support his local BMX teams.
