Coming off a huge adrenaline roller coaster at Olympics it was the inevitable that I wound up sick, rundown and needed some down time…but the show goes on! I flew into America early this week escaping the Canberra winter, clearing up my cold and feeling better for this weekends ABA BMX National round in Louisville Kentucky. The highlight of the weekend was jumping the biggest BMX pro section I have ever attempted with Felicia Stancil. We put on a great show for the crowd and stepped up the level of girl pro BMX racing. Day one of racing I was honestly struggling to get back into the swing of competitive ABA flat start hill racing. I miss calculated my points leading into the final and rolled up to the hill to be told "you have not made the final" :( I don't think that I have ever felt more embarrassed…Lesson Learnt!
24 hours later I turned things back around and made sure that I made the final. Junior BMX World Champion Felicia Stancil won day 1 this girl is one chick to look out for, she is a machine at 17yrs old. Battling around the track with Felicia all the way to the line she took a close win.
Day two was a similar race Felicia took the win again with a clean sweep all three days getting maximum points for the weekend. With six races to go before the ABA Grand American Nationals a tight and competitive America Girl Pro #1 title is in contention.
