only one who needed to race his way into the main day of racing. Romain rode strong going 1st, 2nd, 1st in his 3 motos of racing, having him qualify 5th overall from the top 48 that would move on and out of 144 Elite Men that were signed up to race.
Connor would go onto race the SuperFinal on Friday night, a one lap time trial with the top 16 men. Joris would finish 11th overall for the night, and Connor just missed out with the win as he came across the line 2nd.
Racing stared for race day on Saturday night, and the top 64 Elite men and top 32 Elite Women would all go down the 8 meter ramp, 8 riders at a time for 3 rounds of motos, then onto single elimination quarter and semi final rounds. Things started off bad for Romain, as a crash in his first round put a damper on the night program and would end his night early after the 3rd round. Connor and Joris both raced their way to the front of each and every race they were in, making their way into the nights main event, after a ultra competitive semi event. For the main event, Connor and Joris lined up on the outside in lane 6 & 7 and it would be a tough task to the early lead. Connor had a great start and was up near the front, going into turn one, but being on the outside put him in an vulnerable position and he was shoved high, keeping him out of the led pack. Connor and Joris would finish up 6th and 7th for the day, respectively. Still impressive results from Connor and Joris and a great way to start off the SX season.
Big congratulations go out to Chase Bicycles supported riders Anthony Dean, Stefany Hernandez, and Melinda McLeod for all making the main event as well and podium positions for Anthony and Stefany!
