For those who do not know me, I'm Philip de Jong and I take care of the FATBMX KIDS section on FATBMX. I post things up for the younger riders out there, on the BMX track, the freestyle ramps, and everything in between. Today I bring you the One Industries gear, designed for BMX racing. I was asked to test it and was happy to do so.

First of all it was amazing to receive a package in the mail. It felt very special to see the box sitting there when I got back from school. I could not wait to see what was inside of the One Industries box. I could not believe my eyes. Inside were a short with protection, a first layer body protector, race pants, jersey and a One Industries DOT approved helmet! Needless to say I took my clothers off and tried on the kit. It fit and I did not take it off for the rest of the day. I liked the Orange/Cyan colour combination and felt like a factory rider straight away, just walking around in the gear. But the gear is not made to walk around in, it's built for the track. So next on the program was a session in Volkel, followed by BMX training at my new BMX club in Erp.

When we arrived in Volkel we had the track to ourselves. Perfect to get some laps in and take some pictures. I liked the pants a lot because they flexed in the right places and showed enough protection. The helmet had a perfect fit. Since it's a DOT approved helmet, you can also use it for riding motorcycles. I managed to tighten the strap myself with the help of the red tag on one of the rings. A little detail, but very handy. The wind kept my head fresh, but I rode so much that I still sweated a lot. This testing isn't easy: "One more time please!". The Atom jersey had great ventilation. The wind blew through the holes to keep me cool. We had to wrap it up to go to the next track. FCC Wheels, here we come.

I couldn't wait to get on the track in the new gear. I heard the racers talk behind my back saying they like it. It feels so much better to have the right gear on for the track and I felt comfortable all night doing lap after lap.
