Friday night was the NoFrontTeeth VDO premier party downtown. I jumped into Marco Des Isola's minivan and we followed a taxi van with Bagley, TL, Murray, Clayton, Fuzzy, Aloise, and some trophy girls. The ladies convinced the boys they would get them into some night club but that never happened. It took former UK BMX champ Jeff Duvey to walk us in the door with our sneakers on. Jeff's connections in B'ham are deep, it showed. A good time was had by all and we piled into Marco's van with the 14 of us back to the hotel where some of the racers were not done yet. This type of race preparation worked for some to make the finals every day. The track was a bit wet but pretty smooth and had some decent take offs. The 4 man starting gate went into a wooden ski-jump before a double and a crazy triple needed to be conquered. Then it had a 180 degree right turn, some jumps, a 180 degree left turn and then some weird lines to the finish line. The grandstands were full during every race but I'm not sure what they liked better, the girls giving away free product or the BMX-ing itself. Funny race was the one with TL and Neal Wood where the man with the Mohawk T-boned the 6am-3:30pm S&M employee. Both went down with sportsman Christian Becerine winning the race and Dylan Clayton getting by the 2 to take 2nd place. Neal and TL got up and pushed each other around till the finish line. All for good fun. I've attached the MTB 4X results as well so you can see which BMX-ers got what result.
