The Park finals results are in and it's Daniel Dhers who held things in his own hands. The leader of the Park standings coming into Orlando proved why he was in that position. After winning qualifying, he also won the finals followed by Spinner and Nyquist with Mirra in 4th.

Dhers, 22, executed a flawless first run that included a corked 720 turndown, one of his signature moves. He later completed a front flip over the spine, another Dhers original. The Venezuelan won with a final score of 94.67, securing the Dew Cup title for the second consecutive year.

Mike Spinner, 19, of Miami, Fla., completed two 1080s to finish a close second with 94.17 points. Spinner also placed second overall in Dew Cup standings. Ryan Nyquist, 28, of Greenville, N.C., was third with 92.67 points.

About 3 weeks ago there was a small jam/contest in our local skatepark in Siegen, a not so big city close to Cologne. It was the beginning of October so the weather wasn't very good but anyway, besides a small shower which took only bout 15 minutes the weather stayed good. The riders came from all over North Rhein Westphalia, the Cologne guys, some riders from the Bielefeld area, Timm Wiegmann from Oldenburg, Fischi from Leipzig and of course the Siegen locals were there!

When nothing is happening in your town you can do two things:
1) Complain about it
2) Make shit happen
Timo van Lierop took things into his own hands and organised another "TIMO jam" at the local ramp in Aarle-Rixtel. Not all that much is necessary to set up a jam but one has to do it and Timo got a permit, collected some prices from Paul's Boutique and Eastpak, made sure he got some power for the stereo and got it done.

The only BMX event that's left in Orlando is the Park Finals. The following twelve riders made it to the finals and it looks like it will be a tough battle between championship leaders Daniel Dhers (qualified in first) and Mike Spinner (qualified in second). With the wedding stress behind him Ryan Nyquist is picking up steam. He had just won the Dirt title of the year and then qualified third in park. Check out the AB pics.

Veteran BMX athlete Ryan Nyquist claimed his first Dew Cup title with a fifth-place finish in the BMX dirt finals Saturday at the PlayStation Pro at Amway Arena. Veteran rider Nyquist, 28, of Greenville, N.C., entered the contest with a 50 point lead over Australia’s Cameron White in the Dew Cup standings. Nyquist fell during his first run and then executed two solid, cautious runs to finish with an 87.09 score. White fell midway through his first and third runs, scoring 86.59 overall. He placed sixth in the event and second in Dew Cup standings.

“I was definitely conservative,” a teary-eyed Nyquist said. “I wanted to get a first good run and I crashed. And at that point there were no throw-away runs... (Winning the Dew Cup is) one of the biggest accomplishments I’ve had so far, as far as winning a whole complete series, and winning the title.” 

Australia’s Luke Parslow won the event with three solid runs

ORLANDO, Fla. – Jamie Bestwick claimed his third straight Dew Cup title by placing second in Friday’s BMX vert finals at the PlayStation Pro at Amway Arena. Bestwick, 36, made a remarkable comeback after an unfortunate first run. On his initial drop-in, the crank arm of his pedal fell off his bike, thrusting him into the air as his bike fell down the ramp. Bestwick ricocheted off the ramp and slid down to the flat bottom.

"My crank snapped on my first run so I needed a huge second run to win the Cup,” Bestwick said. “Don't think it was planned that way for the dramatic. There was a lot of pressure going into the final run.”

Bestwick scored a 92.67 on his second run which moved him from last to second. Chad Kagy of Gilroy, Calif. won the event with a 92.67.

The Dirt field is so deep in Orlando that it's hard to make the finals. If you look at the names on the list that did not make it, you know what I'm talking about. Pressure is on at these things and sticking your tricks is what counts. Still, when you go on "save mode", you're not going to make it because the next guy might just bump you out of the top 12. Ryan Guettler is on top of things. He has been rolling the dice and it worked out in prelims scoring more than three solid points over second place finisher Dennis Enarson. Finals are on Saturday so let's see who of the 12 riders can claim it in Orlando. It's anyone's game.

The last stop of the season in the Dew Tour series kicked off in Orlando yesterday with Vert prelims. The  top three from Salt Lake City qualified in that order for the finals but Chad Kagy is back and he can always throw down tricks when he wants to. You can never count out DMC, Walker and Robinson so watch this space for final results soon.

Youngster Bruno Hoffmann was surprised to hear he beat the 14 other pro riders at the final stop of the Playstation The Champ series in Germany. The series has now come to an end and Markus Braumann was crowned The Champ of the series which involved dirt riding, pool riding, mini riding and park riding. Cities that hosted a stop were: München - Wuppertal - München - Moers  and  Heidenheim and points could be scored at each stop. Without furter delay we bring you some photos of the final stop and the pro results from Wuppertal and the year end pro results of the series.

Getting enough vert riders together for a proper halfpipe contest is not an easy task. Especially not one weekend before the last round of the the Dew Tour. But some riders came out of the dark (it was Zach Shaw's first contest of the year) and some used it as a trial contest going into the Dew AST finals (Chad Kagy). Throw in the mix Europe's top dogs and the Mancuso - Zurita duo and you've got one hell of a vert contest anyway. The LG ramp was taken out of the warehouse and with a roll in on each side it provided a good ramp for the big bucks competition. Simon Tabron was favorite going into the contest but how well had Chad Kagy recovered from his collarbone injury?

The vert contest was a straight head to head contest. There was no pre-qualifying contest where riders were added to the field. A total of 14 riders battled it out in round one. 7 moved on and one "Lucky Loser" got voted in via a Text Message contest.
