UCI BMX FREESTYLE PARK WORLD CUP - MEN. After a windy stop in Budapest, it's time for Logan Martin to recover his place on the podium! Kicked out of the competitions during the semi-final due to a massive crash, the winner of the FISE World Series 2016 is not going to wait quietly at the 6th place in the general ranking. But he is facing the Daniel Dhers' solid and regular runs, as well as a Brandon Loupos highly confident thanks to his first place in Budapest. Moreover, the Russian Irek Rizaev is counting as a challenger and he is firmly hooked to his third place. Let's see if the thousand of barspins added in each trick by Logan can make a difference!

On the 26th of August, the spectacular city of Riga, capital of Latvia, hosted the summertime BMX edition of the Simple Session series – the Simple Summer Session. The event was dedicated to the Estonian Presidency of the Council of the European Union and to the 100th birthday of the Republic of Estonia. An exciting and sunny day of competitions culminated with Kostya Andreev (RUS) and Alex Donnachie (GBR) stealing the show in the park and street finals respectively. The contest vas held on a massive and inspiring outdoor skatepark, built on the Freedom Monument Bridge in the heart of the city.
A total of 42 BMX street and park riders from 15 countries went head to head on the Nate Wessel
Today there was no need to travel to a foreign country to attend a BMX event. The Helm Trails Jam was scheduled for Saturday and they could not have picked a better day. No wind, sunshine and 25+ degrees lead to smiles on the faces of those who took the effort to come to Helmond Noord to ride a session on best trails in the Netherlands. The rollercoaster, middellijn and Table line were all in top shape. The water they needed after some heavy riding was taken care of by several visits to the water container. The music played out loud and the vibe was chill. With visitors from Croatia, Germany, Belgium and of course America! (Sem Kok was present) several languages were spoken. Once again the bikes brought people together for a good time and the locals could enjoy the action by watching down from the bridge.
Sem Kok was ruling and if he had received a 'Full Pull sticker' after every lap, you would at least have 50 of them. The trails were in perfect shape, hard and grippy and the flow was there. Jari Roggeveen had a rough time making it through all the lines which indicated they're not that easy. While some enjoyed the flowy table line others hit up the medium level Middellijn and tried to make it to the very end. All afternoon riders were waiting for a run on top of the container at the Helm Trails simply enjoying the riding that was going on.
Another good one in the books. Thanks to Dimitris Araouzos and Dennis Keunen for the trails love.

With the sun setting and the winds picking up, our top qualified BMX Freestyle Pros battled for top spot, with 24-year old Australian Brandon Loupos putting together a gold medal performance. When asked what surprised him about the finals, Loupos replied, “Actually, the biggest surprise was me winning today. I just wanted to come here and ride and do my best with all my friends. It was definitely hard because of the wind, but to win and stick both runs was a blessing and I’m stoked for that.” FISE veteran Daniel Dhers placed second, spinning and flipping all over the course with his calculated, technical tricks including his signature 360 tail-whip, grabbing 9,000 points to push him into the lead for the UCI World Cup overall rankings.
The Semi finals in Budapest were run under windy conditions but the riders made it work as usual and we're hoping for better weather during the 12-men final in Hungary on Sunday afternoon August 20th. Make sure to watch it live here on FATBMX.com.

Hannah Roberts has been pretty much unbeatable on the UCI BMX Freestyle Park World Cup circuit. But it didn't work out for her as planned at the second stop in Hungary. A few too many crashes placed her on spot 3 with Nikita Ducarroz and Lara Lessmann beating her to it. It's the first World Cup win for Lessmann.
