BAWLS Guarana has been named the exclusive Energy Drink of the 2007 ABA National BMX Series. The American Bicycle Association (ABA) has reached an agreement with BAWLS Guarana to be named the “Official Energy Drink” of the 2007 ABA National Bicycle Motocross (BMX) racing series. The exclusive agreement includes participation in every ABA national event, product sampling and a cross-promotion with select retail stores that will reach consumers nationwide. 

UCI is pleased to announce the BMX track layout, which will be used for the XXIX Beijing Olympic Games 20-21 August 2008. With the inclusion of BMX racing in the Olympic Games, UCI has been determined to present BMX racing in a new exciting format, with a unique purpose build track for the very best BMX athletes in the world. The track features a massive 8 meter high starting ramp, including two separate straight-aways for Men and Women. The track will be slightly downhill with a length of app. 370 meter for Men and 350 meters for Women. Rider will complete one run in less than 35 seconds.

Today the first round of the Open Dutch MX championships took place in Gemert. It's only a 10 minute drive so we decided to get over there early. Paul and I got there in time to grab a cup of coffee at Erwin Robins' borrowed camper before practice started in the pouring rain. 40 out of 60 riders made it to the afternoon program and that included Universal MX1 riders Erwin Robins and Jarno Verhorevoort. MXJarno's coffee was good too and by the time the first race started we were high on caffeine and ready for a good race.

Retired BMX and Mountain Bike Pro Set to Lead America’s BMX Riders to Beijing. USA Cycling formally announced today that former BMX World Champion Mike King has been selected to lead American BMX athletes to Beijing as USA Cycling’s Director of BMX Programs. In his new role, one of King’s missions will be to develop a top-notch BMX squad to represent the U.S. at the sport’s Olympic debut next summer. His history as a world-class athlete makes him the ideal candidate to prepare riders who until now haven’t been exposed to the structured environment of an Olympic sport.

Chandler , AZ: The ABA Winternationals have a long tradition of excellence, and this years’ annual event at the Black Mountain BMX track is bound to give BMX racers young and old something to talk about for years to come. As the ultimate way to kick off ABA ’s 30 year anniversary, there will be the biggest gathering of BMX Hall of Famer's and racing legends. The festivities will start on Saturday as ABA’s very first No.1 Pro, Stompin’ Stu Thomsen, will lead the parade lap – followed by up to 20 Hall of Fame inductees and No.1 title holders from the past three decades of ABA BMX. Among the BMX Hall of Famer's who are confirmed to make an appearance are: Stu Thomsen, Greg Hill, David Clinton , Cash Matthews, Jeff Utterback, Perry Kramer , Tommy Brackens, Turnell Henry, Bob Hadley, Brent & Brian Patterson, Jeff Kosmala , Eddy & Mikey King, Charles Townsend, Gary Ellis Jr, Pete Loncarevich, Anthony Sewell, Tinker Juarez, John Crews, Jeff Bottema, Byron Friday, Bobby Encinas and Bob “Oz” Osborn. 

The National Bicycle League (NBL) is proud to announce that MCS Bicycles has signed on for the 2007 season with a focus on supporting the popular Bring-A-Buddy Program. MCS has recently introduced a line of complete bikes and they will benefit from the program by connecting their brand directly to the grass roots of the sport and establishing relationships with our tracks and local bike shops. 

The NBL Elite Series is gearing up for back to back weekends in Florida (Sarasota, Orlando), and the chase is on. Here’s the TOP 10 through the NBL Lake Mead Nationals.

Arcadia, CA – There is absolutely no truth to the rumor that Mike Moeller is off Crupi and there has never been any thought of releasing Mike. By pure accident, BMX World magazine printed in their Feb/March 2007 issue that Mike was off Crupi. BMX World apologized for this miss-print and will print a retraction in the very next issue. Mike Moeller is Crupi’s one and only Elite rider in the United States and Crupi plans to hang onto Mike for a long time. Mike may not win every race he attends, but in our opinion Mike is a true professional and someone who we want representing Crupi at the races.
Look for Mike flying his Crupi Team Green uniform at most big races this season and the World Championships in Canada this summer!

When you go back to the track, put all the checks in the envelope but don’t seal it because the track operator will have to verify what you have collected in order for you to be eligible to compete for the ABA BMX/Intense/THE/VSI awards that will be given away. The NBL's Elite National Series now heads to Florida for back-to-back weekends in Sarasota and Orlando. In addition to the standard NBL payout, Day 1 of Orlando will serve as the last race in the Elite CHECK-POINT chase.
