Out of a field of 33 BMX riders, Jason Lopez won the BMX park competition Sunday at the Gatorade Free Flow Tour's stop in Petaluma, Calif. Seventeen-year-old Lopez from El Sombrante, Calif. earned the BMX park victory at Ramp Rats after executing a 360 double tailwhip over the box jump during his final run. David Kapinos was second and Will Grahn finished in third place.

"I had a lot of fun riding today," Lopez said. "All the other guys were riding so well, winning today and getting to go to the Finals is just a bonus!" 

Out of a field of 15 BMX riders, Nick Garee won the BMX park competition Sunday at the Gatorade Free Flow Tour's stop in Muncie, Ind.
Seventeen-year-old Garee from Centerburg, Ohio earned the BMX park victory at Solution Skatepark after executing a 360 tailwhip over the box jump and a 720 over the spine during his final run. Kevin Teets was second and Keegan Coldiron finished in third place. 

Kevin Robinson spent most of the BMX Freestyle Big Air competition looking like he’d be on the outside looking in as the BMX Freestyle Big Air medals were presented at STAPLES Center. His fourth and final run - featuring a no-handed flip over the ramp and a no-handed flare off the quarter pipe - leapfrogged him from fourth place into the winner’s circle. It’s the fourth gold medal and fourteenth X Games appearance of Robinson’s career, but success still isn’t considered a given in this relatively new event.

“We’re just scratching the surface of this ramp. There’s a lot to come,” said the Rhode Island native. “I’ve learned when you never take anything for granted, life will surprise you.”

Robinson also praised Anthony Napolitan, whose fifth place finish was offset by a successful completion of the first-ever double front flip in Games history. “Anthony is like a little brother to me,” added Robinson. “I’m so proud of him for doing that.”

Before a raucous SoCal crowd, Ryan Guettler (Queensland, Australia), stood atop the podium in the Action Sports Arena at the Orange County Super Fair as the winner of ASA Entertainment’s 2009 Big Air BMX Triples presented by BFD.com (ASA BMX Triples). It’s the second ASA BMX Triples title Guettler has won this year on the ASA Action Sports World Tour, having placed first at the Minneapolis, Minn. tour stop in April. Guettler’s the only man to hold two ASA BMX Triples titles and he certainly hopes it won’t be his last.
