How many rims have you killed doing hang ups?
K-Rob: Over my life of riding? hundreds
How much pressure do you use to tighten your stem bolts?
K-Rob: My arms and an allen wrench. Tighten untill it feels right.
How much pressure goes into your tires?
K-Rob: 80psi for Park, Dirt, Street. 120psi for Vert. 95psi for Mega Ramp and Flatland. Yes I ride all 6 disciplines. Only compete in Vert and Mega ramp.
If you’re going on a trip where you’re not going to ride any vert, what do you change on your bike?
K-Rob: Tire pressure for Park. Tire pressure, and pegs (36D Chromo) for Street. I have a separate Flatland bike, and a seperate Mega Ramp Bike.
Something rattles, what do you do?
K-Rob: If it's my brake cables I tape them with black electrical tape or a zip tie. If it's a part on the bike I tighten it or change it. I can't stand rattles.
What kind of pump do you use?
K-Rob: Yes I bring a pump. Blows my mind how many riders don't travel with a pump. It would be like a NASCAR pit crew not having a Jack and asking to borrow one. Usually buy it at Target. A plastic one (Light to travel with) that goes up to at least 140psi.
Is your toolbox well equipped?
K-Rob: As a lot of other riders, My tool box (Bag) is a toiletry bag that we get given to us at contests in our dinky gift bags. I have the essentials. Always keep extra brake parts, headset bearings, axle nuts, cable ends, lubricant, and extra chain links. Tire Irons as well.
What tools do you take with you when you’re traveling?
K-Rob: The same but I'll replace wrenches with one adjustable. Things like that to lighten the load.
Who are hooking you up to keep your bike rolling?
K-Rob: I've proudly been with Hoffman Bikes for 19years. I'll never leave. I have an HB Lifer tattoo on my right forearm.
